What Marvel TV shows will come after Avengers: Endgame?

WandaVision (January 15, 2021)

Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will star as Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Vision on a Disney+ series. The show looks to be a delusion of either Wanda or Vision as it hops around in time, cribbing from various family TV sitcom tropes along the way. It looks weird and delightful and exactly like what we need from a Disney+ MCU series.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (March 19, 2021)

Steve Rogers passed the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon) at the end of Avengers: Endgame, so Falcon & Winter Soldier could take on the more spoilery title Captain America & Winter Soldier. (The show, which will air on Disney+, cannot be set before the events of Endgame, since Bucky was either evil, in hiding or in a coma the entire time that Sam was Falcon.) At Comic-Con, it was revealed that Monica Rambeau will be played in the “present” by Teyonah Parris.

Loki (May 2021)

Thor: Ragnarok. Loki (Tom Hiddleston)Marvel

Rick and Morty writer Michael Waldron will serve as showrunner for this series about everyone’s favorite trickster god on Disney+. Thanos killed the 2018 version of Loki in Avengers: Infinity War. But when the Avengers travel back in time to 2012 in Avengers: Endgame, that version of Loki steals the Tesseract and escapes. The show will follow this 2012 Loki across time and space.

What If..? (Summer 2021)

The first animated series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will ask what if things had gone differently for our favorite heroes and villains? Questions like: What if Loki had defeated New York or what if someone Peggy Carter had been injected with the super-solider serum instead of Captain America? Much of the MCU live-action cast will voice their characters in episodes, and Jeffrey Wright will host the show as the Watcher, literally watching over these scenarios.

Ms. Marvel (late 2021)

Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, is the first Muslim superhero to enter the MCU. The Pakistani American teenager has shapeshifting abilities and worships Captain Marvel (which means she could appear alongside Brie Larson in a Captain Marvel sequel on the big screen).

Hawkeye (2021)

Hawkeye was going back to retirement at the end of Endgame — but not for long. A Hawkeye series on Disney+ in which Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton trains his protege Kate Bishop played by Hailee Steinfeld is in the works.

She-Hulk (2022)

Orphan Black’s Titiana Maslany stars as Jennifer Walters, Bruce Banner’s cousin who gains his Hulk powers after receiving a blood transfusion from him. She is a lawyer by day and crimefighter by night.

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (Winter 2022)

All of the Guardians of the Galaxy will gather together on Disney+ for what is sure to be a wacky and fun holiday special, directed by James Gunn.

I Am Groot (TBA)

Groot, voiced by Vin Diesel in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2.Marvel Studios

The adorable trisyllabic tree, voiced by Vin Diesel, will star in a series of shorts on the streaming service.

Armor Wars (TBA)

Don Cheadle as Rhodie, a.k.a. War Machine, gets his own spinoff show. Now that Tony Stark is gone, Rhodie will have to don the armor on his own when a bad guy gets his hands on Stark’s technology.

Marvel is adapting yet another recent storyline from the comic books. This show will center on Riri Williams played by Dominique Thorne(If Beale Street Could Talk). Riri is an inventor who creates an Iron Man suit as powerful as Tony ever designed and dubs herself Iron Heart.

Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders in Spider-Man: Far From HomeJay Maidment—Sony Pictures

Samuel L. Jackson will star as Agent Fury alongside Ben Mendelsohn’s alien Talos from Captain Marvel as they contend with a secret invasion of shapeshifting Skrulls on earth.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that the studio is returning to Hall H this year. Hall H is the con’s largest space, so Marvel intends to have a big presence at this year’s show. That Marvel Studios panel is set to take place on July 23 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

During the studio’s 2019 panel, Feige announced a whole slate of projects from phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Since then, nearly all of those projects have been released in theaters or Disney Plus, leaving fans wondering what comes next for the MCU. 

When Feige announced plans for this year’s panel during press for «Thor: Love and Thunder,» he also confirmed that the panel will answer questions about where the MCU is heading, stating «we are excited to go and talk about the future.»

Whether Marvel’s panel includes more information about already announced projects, like «Black Panther: Wakanda Forever» and «She-Hulk,» or it features announcements for brand-new movies and shows, it’s sure to offer some exciting details. That said, fans should keep in mind that Marvel will also have a big presence at the D23 Expo in September, so it could save its biggest announcements for that event.

It’s unlikely that we’ll see livestreams for any major panels during San Diego Comic-Con 2022, but it’s possible that some clips and trailers could pop up on various studio YouTube channels after the show.

Outside of Marvel, Amazon Studios is the only other company that’s announced any kind of livestream coverage. Though the studio won’t be streaming its panels, it did announce a livestream Q&A to tie into the «The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power» panel on July 22.

Directly after the panel, members of the cast will participate in a Q&A that you’ll be able to watch on , , TikTok, YouTube, Instagram Live, Twitch, and Amazon Live. The livestream starts at 3:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. PT on July 22. 

Moon Knight/Mr. Рыцарь

The DC Comic-Con panel delivered new on Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, but sadly disappointed on rumors of Henry Cavill’s Superman news.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

The official trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods debuted at Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con panel offering the first look at the DC sequel. Zachary Levi’s Shazam references Justice League heroes such as Ben Affleck’s Batman, Ezra Miller’s Flash, and Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman, with previous footage to highlight each.

Black Adam

Dwayne Johnson had an electric Black Adam panel at Comic-Con! The Rock showed off more footage of Black Adam on Twitter and confirmed his anti-hero spin-off will “usher in a new era in the DC universe.”.

Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, who previously made a cameo appearance in Peacemaker, was also confirmed to appear in Black Adam.

Clips Or A Teaser For Black Widow

Fans have been asking for a Black Widow solo film starring Scarlett Johansson since the character made her MCU debut back in 2010’s Iron Man 2. Now it’s finally happening, and all it took was for Black Widow to die! As far as we can tell, Black Widow seems to be the furthest along of the MCU’s Phase 4 titles and will likely the next MCU movie we’ll see following Spider-Man: Far From Home. Yet other than reported casting, we know very little about it.

Black Widow is , but that doesn’t mean we can’t get clips or a full teaser at San Diego Comic-Con. The Guardians of the Galaxy cast famously showed up at Comic-Con with footage just two weeks into shooting, and Black Widow could make a major splash by doing the same. And after a hectic Saturday, Sunday will be much more relaxed TV/film event with just two panels in Hall H.

The first, at 12 p.m., will be a Mayans M.C. screening and Q&A. Co-creator Elgin James and series stars JD Pardo, Clayton Cardenas, Danny Pino, Sarah Bolger, Emilio Rivera, Michael Irby, Raoul Max Trujillo, Frankie Loyal, Joseph Lucero, Vincent Vargas, Gino Vento, and JR Bourne will be on hand to offer some explanation for their characters choices in recent episodes.

Following at 1:15 p.m. is What We Do In The Shadows. Beyond screening a never-before-seen episode, stars Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, Mark Proksch, and Kristen Schaal are expected to appear alongside executive producers Paul Simms, Stefani Robinson, Yana Gorskaya, and Kyle Newacheck for a Q&A.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves opens Hall H programming for the year. The long-awaited D&D film stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith, Regé-Jean Page, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, and Hugh Grant. According to Comic-Con’s description, the hour will feature “a panel discussion and footage presentation with the cast and filmmakers.” It is unclear who will actually be in attendance, but you can be fairly sure a teaser trailer will pop up online shortly thereafter.

The Hall H programming continues with looks at Paramount+’s Teen Wolf the Movie at 1:30 p.m., a 40th Anniversary celebration of Masters of the Universe at 3 p.m. — which may yield some new info on the upcoming MOTU feature film — and William Shatner will take to the stage at 4:30 for a look at the upcoming documentary centered around his nine decades on planet Earth.

Elsewhere at the convention, Ghosts makes its Ballroom 20 debut at 1 p.m. with series stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Danielle Pinnock, Asher Grodman, Román Zaragoza, Sheila Carrasco, Rebecca Wisocky, Devan Chandler Long and executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman expected to appear. The panel also promises some “never before seen footage” which could mean a Season 2 sizzle reel. Hopefully, that video will also find its way online shortly after the panel ends. Also making its Comic-Con debut is the AppleTV+ series Severance at 3:30 p.m. in Ballroom 20. Executive producer Ben Stiller, creator and executive producer Dan Erickson, and cast members Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman, Dichen Lachman, and Jen Tullock will chat with Patton Oswalt about the first season and, hopefully, offer a proper tease of its eventual return.

But that’s not all! Thursday also features panels devoted to Spongebob Squarepants (3:30 p.m. in Room 6BCF), Beavis and Butt-Head (4:45  p.m. in Ballroom 20), The Dragon Prince (4:45 p.m. in Room 6BCF), the premiere of Salvage Marines (5 p.m. in Room 7AB), Koala Man (6 p.m. in Room 6BCF), and Solar Opposites (7:15 p.m. in Room 6BCF).

All Things Marvel Announced at San Diego Comic-Con

It was going to be difficult for Marvel to build momentum going into the MCU’s next phase. Avengers Endgame marked The Infinity Saga’s end. While we have seen some fantastic new characters in phase four, many are still unsure where the franchise is heading.

Now we know that The Multiverse Saga is underway. This is not surprising considering that the Multiverse featured heavily in many phases four projects, such as Spider-Man, Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness and Loki. Marvel announced a slew of projects at San Diego Comic Con’s Hall H. We’re here to help you. Get ready.

Next up on the MCU slate is I am Groot, a series of five animated shorts. This animated short will answer your questions about what happens when Groot farts. Sheik: Attorney at Law will air on Disney Plus from August 17t. Tatiana Maslany plays Tatiana Maslany’s Sheulk, who Bruce Banner is training to become a Hulk. Kevin Feige revealed that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Benedict Wong’s Wong would also appear in the series.

The fourth phase will end with Black Panther: Wakanda forever, which will be released on November 11r, 2022. This epic trailer may be Marvel’s most powerful yet. The trailer teased Namor, the mutant villain and showed a Wakanda mourning, as the film was set to reflect on Chadwick Boseman’s tragic death.

We now have a complete phase five lineup. The fifth phase will begin with Ant-Man and The Wasp on February 17y, 2023). This episode will feature Jonathan Majors’ Kang, the ultimate bad guy in The Multiverse Saga. Then, we’ll move on to Secret Invasion in spring 2023. Disney Plus sees Maria Hill and Nick Fury team up to combat a Skrull invasion. The trailer was shown to attendees, but the rest of the details are being kept secret. James Rhodes, Don Cheadle’s star, will also appear in the series.

James Gunn’s eagerly awaited Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be released on May 55, 2023. This is the last Guardians movie. A secret trailer for the film was also shown to attendees. This private trailer, made possible by the Multiverse, apparently featured Gamora. Echo, a spinoff from Hawkeye, will be released in Summer 2023. It will also feature Daredevil and Ms. Marvel. Captain Marvel will join The Marvels on July 28y, 2023.

The second season of Loki will then drop (Summer 2023), followed by Blade November 3, .2023) and Ironheart(Fall 2023). Ironheart/Ri Williams will be the first to appear in Black Panther – Wakanda Forever. After blade, we have Agatha (Winter 20,23/4), a spinoff of Wandavision. Then, Daredevil: Born Again will be released in Spring 2024. One of the panel’s highlights was the 18-episode series with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil.

Are you still here with me? We are almost there. Then, Anthony Mackie’s Captain America portrayal finally gets a solo appearance in Captain America New World Order (3 mai 2024), before phase five concludes with the team-up film ThunderboltsJuly 26y, 2024.

You don’t have to tell me that you are all Marvel-ed out. There’s more! We also know that the sixth phase will begin with Fantastic FourNovember 8r, 2024, and end with two Avengers films in 2025 – Avengers, The Kang Dynasty (2 mai, 2025) & Avengers Secret Wars (7 November 2025).

Marvel teased the animated series Spider-Man Freshman Year. While Cox will appear as Daredevil in the show, Tom Holland isn’t yet set to take over his role. Although concept art for the show was shown, it doesn’t appear that it will be included in the official MCU lineup. This is strange, considering Freshman Years was initially intended to be a canonical origin story. What if I will be back for a second season, but this was not announced at the main Marvel panel? That is quite a lot of Marvel content. Let’s go!

All Things Marvel Announced at San Diego Comic Con

Some Surprises

The MCU is always surprising us, whether it be with ambitious slate announcements or . It is part of Marvel’s DNA and I think the fans and media members packed into Hall H will all be hoping and expecting to be surprised during Marvel Studios’ presentation. Surprises could range from previously unreported castings to intriguing titles to new movie announcements (beyond what we know is coming). Provide enough good surprises and fans will walk out satisfied. Of course, the Thing in the room can’t go unaddressed.

Marvel Studios parent company Disney now owns 21st Century Fox, and thus Marvel has access to and the X-Men once more. Everything Kevin Feige has said indicates that these characters, , will not be joining the MCU . So although we probably won’t be hearing about a new movie featuring these characters, it would be nice to at least get a mention of the fact that . But what a banger it would be to end the press conference with the announcement that Marvel’s prodigal First Family is finally returning with a new movie.

These are just a few of the things we are hoping to see from Marvel Studios’ upcoming Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, and that’s just on the movies side of things. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney+ in a big way with designed to tie in to the films in . On screens big and small, Marvel Studios has us eager to see what’s next and fortunately, we don’t have long to wait to find out.

Casting News And Confirmations

Like the films arriving in the coming years, no casting has been officially announced for Marvel’s upcoming films, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have a pretty good idea of who’s coming aboard thanks to various reports. Marvel seems to be assembling for its future movies, and it would be great to have some of these reported and rumored castings confirmed. It would be even better have those confirmations come from the actors themselves showing up to greet the Comic-Con crowd.

Angelina Jolie, , Kumail Nanjiani and Salma Hayek are all reportedly attached to The Eternals, so hopefully we’ll get confirmation of these castings and more than that, insight into what characters these actors are playing. The same goes for Marvel’s other upcoming movies. Maybe we’ll even get some surprise casting announcements that haven’t already been reported. For instance, maybe Marvel has landed an actor to play Shang-Chi that the studio can announce in Hall H.

The Avengers: Reassembled

With the release of , Marvel Studios just accomplished an unprecedented feat in cinematic history, and the word is that the studio will take a much deserved victory lap at Hall H. We know that the Russo Brothers have their own panel in Hall H on Friday, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them show up here. But what fans really want to see, and what may be happening, is that the Avengers will be reassembled on the Hall H stage.

Given the events of Avengers: Endgame, this could be the last time we see the Avengers, particularly the original 6, on stage together. Marvel likely knows that it would be really cool and meaningful for the actors that took this universe into the stratosphere to come take a bow in front of the adoring crowd. Fans will want to say goodbye to these actors, especially for Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson, and tell them ‘I love you 3000.’ This seems like it has a solid chance of happening.
