Настраивая зрителей на просмотр проектов на Disney+, авторы буквально в каждом обещали какие‑нибудь сюрпризы. И почти всегда обманывали.

Ярче всего это заметно по «Ванде/Вижну». В проект пригласили Эвана Питерса, что будто намекало на мультивселенную. Всё дело в том, что актёр играл брата Ванды, Пьетро Максимоффа, в фильмах серии «Люди Икс». А у Marvel эту же роль исполнял Аарон Тейлор‑Джонсон, но его героя убили ещё в «Эре Альтрона».

После того как Disney купил студию 20th Century Fox, которой принадлежала франшиза, вовсю пошли слухи об объединении киновселенных. Появление Питерса сочли перспективным знаком. Но оказалось, что в сериале он играет другого персонажа, а в финале всё сводится к пошлой шутке про фамилию героя.

В том же шоу «Ванда/Вижн» актёр Пол Беттани, сыгравший одну из главных ролей, обещал важное и удивительное камео, которое якобы скрывали при разработке. Сразу появились предположения, что это будет доктор Стрэндж в исполнении Бенедикта Камбербэтча или же злодей Мефисто из оригинальных комиксов

В результате оказалось, что актёр говорил лишь про другую версию своего героя — Белого Вижна.

Как ни удивительно, ожидания зрителей обманул и «Локи». Как известно, в рамках киновселенной бог хитрости погиб ещё в «Войне бесконечности», попытавшись убить Таноса. Но в фильме «Мстители: Финал» главные герои переместились в прошлое, где случайно позволили сбежать ранней версии Локи.

Казалось, что теперь зрителям представят фактически нового персонажа. В основной временной линии он уже прошёл через потерю матери и родного Асгарда, помирился с братом и превратился из злодея в обаятельного антигероя. Сериал мог представить другую версию его развития: Локи из прошлого всё ещё остаётся злодеем, обманывает всех окружающих и легко творит гадости.

Но поскольку зрители уже полюбили добряка из последних картин, бога хитрости превращают в честного и отзывчивого буквально за одну‑две серии. Ему просто показывают все события, которые произошли с ним в будущем, и Локи тут же меняется. То есть за эпизод он прошёл то же развитие, что и почти за 10 лет в другом мире.

Кроме того, в «Локи» обещали показать интересные альтернативные версии героя, но и с этим справились только частично. Его женский вариант Сильвия (София Ди Мартино) действительно обаятельная и харизматичная. А вот остальные появляются только для развлечения буквально на считаные минуты. Особенно обидно за классического Локи в исполнении Ричарда Э. Гранта. Этот персонаж точно заслуживал большего.

От «Сокола и Зимнего Солдата» ожиданий было меньше всего. Здесь поклонников дразнили появлением Криса Эванса в роли Стива Роджерса и снова обманули. Но зрители уже заранее знали, что пост Капитана Америки окончательно займёт Сэм Уилсон в исполнении Энтони Маки. Вот только все помнили, что его предшественник был суперсолдатом: более сильным и выносливым, чем обычные люди. Маки же играет простого военного с хорошей подготовкой и крутым костюмом.

Возникали предположения, что в финале сезона броня, которую прислали герою из Ваканды, как‑то увеличит его силы и приравняет Сокола к остальным суперсолдатам. Но пока что это никак не подтверждается, есть только фанатские теории , как может работать новое обмундирование. Формально герой так и остался обычным человеком, только теперь со щитом и другим нарядом.

Безымянный спин-офф серии «Черная пантера» (подлежит уточнению)

В 2010 году BET выпустила без канонической связи с MCU (кроме совпадения Джимона Хонсу с Т’Чаллой). Тем не менее, Райан Куглер, режиссер отмеченного наградами хита 2018 года, также собирается представить свою интерпретацию Ваканды на маленьком экране.

What Shows Are in This Episode Timeline?

There are five shows plus a limited series that make up these Marvel TV shows.

Daredevil: A show about Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with gifted abilities that allow him to become a kind of Batman of the Marvel universe. He fights primarily against Wilson Fisk, a crime lord with a vision. It’s, in my opinion, the best show of the bunch.
Jessica Jones: This is a show about a mentally scared woman with superhuman strength. Her past reveals a brutal relationship with a villain known as Kilgrave. The show has her dealing with Kilgrave, as well as the PTSD that he’s responsible for giving her.
Luke Cage: Protector of Harlem and Mercenary for Hire, Luke Cage is a bullet-proof man with superstrength and an attitude. His adventures pit him against the likes of the supervillain Cottonmouth.
Iron Fist: Though less appreciated than the other shows, Iron Fist is still our only live-action look at Danny Rand, a former playboy multimillionaire who has been missing for ten years, and mysteriously returns.
The Defenders: After each of the first four shows had at least one season (Daredevil had two), they all came together for a limited series called The Defenders, which can only be seen on Netflix.
The Punisher: In perhaps one of the best bits of casting in Marvel television history, Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) goes on a revenge rampage after his wife is murdered, becoming a brutally violent vigilante, but also uncovering a conspiracy as he went

These shows don’t deal with the big-shot superheroes like Captain America or Iron Man. Instead, they deal with street-level superheroes. People just living their lives who happen to have some special abilities.

Though personally, I find these shows to be very different from the Marvel movies, as a Marvel fan, these are some of my favorite live-action stories out there, though there are both hits and misses.

Each Marvel series brings something unique, and I believe these deserve to remain in the MCU, especially some of the incredible acting from so many of the heroes (and villains, you guys, the villains are so good!)

First looks at Marvel’s 2022 shows

Marvel’s shows this year (WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye) all focus on familiar faces from the MCU. 2022 is a year of comic book characters never seen on screen before, so these clips in the special are a first chance to see how they look.

Moon Knight is described as a «globetrotting action-adventure series featuring a complex vigilante.» Oscar Isaac stars as the rooftop-leaping hero, whose dissociative identity disorder and multiple identities are symbolized in the clip by lots of mirrors and even some different accents.

Marvel
She-Hulk, aka superhuman lawyer Jennifer Walters, is played by Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany. Marvel specifically refers to this one as a «comedy series.» The clip sees her meet Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and make the famous promise «You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.» The series will also see a return for rival big green guy the Abomination, played by Tim Roth and briefly seen in Shang-Chi.

Ms. Marvel introduces Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City who’s a huge fan of the Avengers and Captain Marvel. The clip features Kamala mixing her normal life at school and the mosque with trying out her new superpowers in a homemade costume. Ms. Marvel is set to debut in fall 2022.

Ещё на стадии разработки различные источники сообщали, что Marvel и Disney+ вложили в каждый из новых сериалов от 100 до 150 миллионов долларов. Лучше всего они заметны по «Соколу и Зимнему Солдату». Этот сериал должен был радовать ярким экшеном, и полёт одного из героев в первом эпизоде правда выглядит внушительно. Но потом на протяжении всего сезона зрителю показали всего несколько сражений и погонь. При этом поставлены они очень слабо: в сцене драки с Джоном Уокером за 30 секунд можно насчитать порядка 40 монтажных склеек. Следить за действием очень трудно.

Уровень спецэффектов и экшена в «Локи» как будто возвращает к первым фильмам о Торе. А единственное сражение в финале «Ванды/Вижна» и вовсе выглядит нелепо, что уже не прикроешь стилизацией под ситкомы.

Всё это не означает, что сериалы Marvel на Disney+ получились совсем уж плохими. Просто обещая зрителям полноценный аналог полнометражных фильмов, студии завысили ожидания. А на самом деле показали высокобюджетные, но вполне стандартные проекты.

There’s a better way to do it, but before we get there, I’ll show you the simplest ways to enjoy the Netflix shows in the official MCU order. That’s the order that Marvel offers on Disney Plus. You’ll find the Netflix shows in bold below, according to their MCU timeline placement:

There you have it. The Netflix shows sit between Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Doctor Strange on the MCU timeline. Note that Spider-Man: Homecoming is absent from the list as Disney doesn’t feature the Sony films in the Timeline Order section on Disney Plus.

But that might not be good enough for some fans. After all, some of those Netflix shows have multiple seasons. While the protagonists do not interact with the larger MCU, they interact with each other. This brings us to a different way of watching these shows chronologically, taking into account the different seasons. And it goes all the way up to Avengers: Infinity War.

The Defenders Saga

There is also the “Defenders” Saga, which was originally released on Netflix, before being moved onto Disney+ in early 2022. “The Defenders” take place in New York after the events of “The Avengers” and before the events of the “Hawkeye” Disney+ series.

While the series wasn’t considered part of the MCU for years, the release of “Echo” confirmed that they are now part of the sacred timeline and considered part of the MCU.

The watching order for “The Defenders” is as follows:

Jessica Jones, Season 1 (November 2015)

After the remarkable success of Daredevil, Marvel debuts the second superhero in another Netflix series. The show of the same name as the superhero herself has put the spotlight on Jessica Jones played by Breaking Bad actress, Krysten Ritter.

The first season of Jessica Jones introduces the character who discovered that she has superhuman abilities. She awoke from a car accident that claimed the lives of both her parents and sibling. But after the tragic end to her brief career as a superhero with limited powers, she starts her life over by running her own private investigator agency.

As a drunken private investigator, she looks into cases of people that may potentially have extraordinary abilities in New York City. She suffers from a PTSD, a condition that manifested right after Kilgrave has brainwashed and controlled her. An interesting turn happens as she stumbles upon a case that compels her to revisit her past and unlock her true identity.

Jessica Jones season 1 is a clever and powerful superhero series to hit the small screen. Ritter is adorably brilliant in her titular role, she was nominated for Critics Choice TV Award’s Best Actress in a Drama Series. She is definitely a joy to watch as a witty, sarcastic, kick-ass female superhero.

Iron Fist, Season 2 (September 2018)

After more than a year since the season premiere of its first outing, Danny Rund is back for a second run on Netflix. Iron Fist continues to take on his superhero role in keeping the peace in the city of New York using the power of the Immortal Iron Fist.

In this season, Iron Fist gets entangled with a new supervillain, Typhoid Mary (Alice Eve). Otherwise known as Mary Walker, the sweet girl with multiple personalities makes a surprise addition to the show other than Steel Serpent. Iron Fist is defending New York on behalf of Daredevil who has gone missing and assumed to be dead in the aftermath of The Defenders.

The first season apparently falls below fans’ expectations. However, Iron Fist has received positive feedback from the viewers in its second season. The show has definitely gotten better than the first run. Unfortunately, that is not enough to save the show from being axed after two seasons.

Brand-new Marvel announcements

No clips or release dates for these yet, but Marvel announced these new projects.

• Echo stars Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez, a deaf superhero who will be introduced in Hawkeye.

• Agatha: House of Harkness sees Kathryn Hahn return as the scene-stealing sorceress from WandaVision. Jac Schaeffer returns as head writer.

• X-Men ’97 is an animated series that «explores new stories in the iconic ’90s timeline of the original series.» The show ran from 1992 to 1997, suggesting the series will pick up where the previous series left off. We hope it has a similar animation style — and it better have the theme tune!

• Spider-Man: Freshman Year is an animated series following a young Peter Parker on his way to becoming the MCU’s Spider-Man. If that sounds kinda like something you’ve seen a million times before, Marvel promises «a journey unlike we’ve ever seen and a style that celebrates the character’s early comic book roots.»

• Marvel Zombies is an animated series from Marvel Studios, based on the popular comic and following the undead-themed episode 5 of What If…?

The Punisher, Season 1 (November 2017)

The Punisher has gained popularity among the critics and fans since his introduction in Daredevil season 2. So, it did not come as a surprise when Netflix ordered for the first season of The Punisher.

Frank Castle returns with his own stand-alone series that premiered on Netflix in November 2017. The Punisher arrives in perfect timing, right when Marvel’s TV-verse on Netflix can make use of a well-needed a boost. The network did see a lackluster performance of Iron Fist in its first season and lukewarm reception of The Defenders from the audience.

In the first season, Frank Castle puts justice in his hands to avenge the death of his family who was brutally murdered. But soon enough, he finds himself dealing with a conspiracy that is far larger than the heinous criminals that proliferate in the city of New York. The Punisher becomes an unstoppable vigilante who punishes those who are guilty.

What makes The Punisher a huge hit is that it stays true to the character that fans of Marvel Comics came to love. The Punisher season 1 did not come short of the lead character’s brutal combat styles and ruthless image. The action scenes are intense and right on point, making it an utterly entertaining offering to watch.

Jon Bernthal is also perfect for the role of The Punisher. The actor portrays the badass character that is beloved by many in the comics like no one else can. Bernthal stars as Castle alongside other cast members Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Daniel Webber, Paul Schulze, Jason R. Moore, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, and Deborah Ann Woll.

«Агент Картер» (короткометражка) — вышла 3 сентября 2013. Через год после исчезновения Капитана Америки и окончания Второй Мировой агент Картер прозябает в офисе — начальник принципиально не выдаёт ей стоящие задания. Но опасная миссия находит героиню сама.
«Тор 2: Царство тьмы» — вышел 7 ноября 2013. В глубине космоса пробуждаются древние враги Асгарда — тёмные эльфы — их лидер жаждет заполучить могущественный артефакт Эфир. Чтобы победить, Тору понадобятся не только сверхсилы, но и помощь возлюбленной — учёной Джейн.
«Да здравствует король» (короткометражка) — вышла 4 февраля 2014. Актёр, притворявшийся главой террористов Мандарином, спокойно и даже с комфортом проводит время в тюрьме, пока к нему не наведывается журналист, чтобы взять интервью.
«Первый мститель: Другая война» — вышел 3 апреля 2014. Капитан Америка узнаёт, что организация «Щ.И.Т.», на которую он верно работал, на самом деле контролируется нацистской «Гидрой», а в планах у неё, разумеется, посягательства на свободу всех мирных граждан.
«Стражи Галактики» — вышел 31 июля 2014. Разношёрстная компания космических преступников пытается не переругаться, не передраться, договориться, научиться доверию и в конце концов спасти мир силой дружбы.
«Мстители: Эра Альтрона» — вышел 23 апреля 2015. Всё ещё не разобравшийся с посттравматическим синдромом Тони Старк создаёт искусственный интеллект с задачей защищать планету, но тот, вместо благой цели, становится одержим властью. Чтобы справиться с восстанием машин нужна вся команда Мстителей.
«Фронт новостей WHIH» (веб-сериал), сезон 1 — выходил со 2 по 16 июля 2015. Новостные выпуски из мира киновселенной, посвящённые событиям, предшествующим «Человеку-муравью», в частности — преступлению, за которое будущий супергерой отсидел в тюрьме. Посмотреть веб-сериал можно на YouTube.
«Человек-муравей» — вышел 16 июля 2015. Скотт Лэнг отсидел в тюрьме за «благородный разбой» и пытается снова устроиться в жизни. Выходит не очень, тогда он решается ограбить дом бывшего учёного, но преступление не задаётся и герой ввязывается в опасную гонку технологий.

Luke Cage, Season 1 (September 2016)

Months after the introduction of Jessica Jones, Marvel pulls up the curtain for another Marvel TV-verse superhero. Enter Luke Cage, who cannot be killed with bullets. The bulletproof hero is also known as Carl Lucas, an ex-cop who has been accused of a murder he did not commit.

Wanting to live in peace, the Power Man keeps his head down while he works at a local barbershop as a hair sweeper. However, no matter how he tries to maintain a low profile, troubles seem to be thrown his way.

Reluctant at first, Luke Cage is forced to get out of his cave to save the lives of people he loves. He now makes use of his power to take on a crime lord and stop the evil that overshadows the streets of Harlem.

The first season of Luke Cage poignantly reflects the real-world scenario. Viewers can relate it to the real, chaotic modern world that is teeming with conflict and a corrupt political system.

The show may not be as great as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but Luke Cage still manages to offer entertainment to the viewers. The biting presence of the supervillain and Luke’s arch enemy, Cottonmouth (Mahershala Ali), also makes it a good show to watch. In addition, the series features a superb soundtrack.

Mike Colter fits like a glove in playing the titular character with his smooth voice and athletic body that is as hard as a rock. Other guest stars include Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Theo Rossi as Hernan “Shades” Alvarez, Erik LaRay Harvey as Willis Stryker/Diamondback, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard.

Пятый и шестой
сезоны сериала «Агенты Щ.И.Т.» вышли в сокращенном формате и были продлены на
седьмой сезон, премьера которого должна состояться уже в мае 2020 года.

The Punisher, Season 2 (January 2019)

After quite a long wait, fans now lay their eyes once more on their favorite badass vigilante on TV.in his stand-alone series. The Punisher season 2 has certainly improved compared to season 1. But many also agree that the first installment already offers great entertainment to the fans of the show.

In this bloodier new season, The Punisher battles it out again with a marred Jigsaw, who returns from the first season. Karen Page will also make a guest appearance in the series.

This is perhaps Karen’s last outing in the Marvel Netflix timeline. The cast members who reprise their roles in this season include Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, and Jason R. Moore as Curtis Hoyle.

It also seems likely that second season of The Punisher will tie some loose ends or better yet carve a plotline for the upcoming third season of Jessica Jones. Viewers can only wish that season 2 would not be the last installment for The Punisher and that Netflix will still pick up the show for a third season.
