Will Tobey Maguire Return for Spider-Man 4?

The words «Tobey Maguire» and «Spider-Man 4» have been closely linked for quite some time; however, it is not because the classic Spidey actor will appear in the MCU sequel.
After returning to his Marvel superhero role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans have begun to wonder when and where the actor will pop up as the character again. For now, it feels like Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4 is not that place.
Maguire was previously attached to a Spider-Man 4 of his own, following the completion of his own Spider-Man trilogy back in 2007. The movie was originally set to release in 2011, however, due to creative differences between director Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures, the movie was ultimately cancelled in 2010 in favor of a rebooted Spider-Man franchise starring Andrew Garfield.
Since the actor’s return in No Way Home though, discourse around a fourth Spidey film starring Maguire has reached a fever pitch.
Spider-Man 3 and No Way Home actor Thomas Haden Church hinted at his wanting to be a part of a potential Spider-Man 4 with Maguire, but nothing about another Maguire Spider-Man project has been confirmed:
Harrison Ford Will Reportedly Make His Debut As Thunderbolt Ross In Captain America: Brave New World
Brave New World will also feature the return of another MCU character, though they’re going to look a bit different this time around. Harrison Ford will step into the role of Thaddeus «Thunderbolt» Ross, who was previously played by the late William Hurt. The Cap movie will only be the first film to feature Ford’s iteration of the character, as he’s reportedly set to reprise it in Thunderbolts.
Captain America 4 producer Nate Moore broke his silence on Harrison Ford’s casting and expressed excitement over the iconic actor joining the superhero franchise. Based on his comments, it sounds like Ross and Sam Wilson will truly go toe to toe. It sounds like the Indiana Jones actor himself was apparently delightful on set, though, because he lightened the energy with hilariously blunt declarations.
And of course, there are plenty of fans out there hoping that the MCU’s Ross also becomes Red Hulk at some point. When Harrison Ford addressed his Marvel role, he remained tight-lipped, so don’t expect him to spill any details on the matter moving forward. However, Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige has revealed that Ross — in this movie — is now the President of the United States.

Captain America: Brave New World Will Be A Marvel Phase 5 Movie
There’s been a great deal of apprehension concerning the MCU’s direction since the end of Phase 4. However, fans were given some much needed reassuring in July 2022 when Kevin Feige shared information about the next two phases of what’s being called the Multiverse Saga. During the Marvel Studios presentation at 2022 SDCC, Feige revealed the full slate for Phase 5, which kicked off with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February 2023. It was set to conclude with the delayed Thunderbolts, but the movie that’ll now cap it off is set to be Blade.
Near the latter part of Phase 5 (which has seen some reshuffling due to the Hollywood strikes in 2023 and more) is Brave New World, which is set to premiere ahead of fellow big-screen phase entries Thunderbolts and Blade. With Cap 4 being released only months prior to the former film, one has to wonder if the two movies might share some direct connections. After all, Sam Wilson’s old frenemy, Bucky Barnes, is set to appear in that team-up movie.
There is still a lot we don’t yet know about Captain America: Brave New World (and the same is true of some other upcoming Marvel movies). However, we expect to know more in the very near future.
Captain America: Brave New World release date
Captain America: Brave New World will hit cinemas on July, 26th, 2024. Marvel delayed the initial release date (May 3rd, 2024) by nearly three months in mid-June 2023, just as the film was in production. Marvel delayed a slew of Phase 5 and Phase 6 titles, not just the new Captain America adventure.
The release date change dropped soon after the new title reveal. About a year ahead of the film’s original release date, a rumor emerged claiming that Marvel might change the title of Captain America 4. We now know it’ll be called Brave New World instead of New World Order.

The White House In Captain America Brave New World!

As we are moving forward in this multiverse, it seems like anything or everything is possible. Now is the time for The White House. If you are wondering about “what”, then don’t worry, we are here to explain everything!
Recently, many new plot leaks were shared by many Hollywood outlets that were revealing the place where the final battle of this movie will happen. The name if that place is none other then ;The White House’. According to these leaks, the final battle will start somewhere in Washington DC and will cover a large area, hence, ending up in the safest place of America!
If you’ll pay some attention on the leaked image of Red Hulk (shared in previous section), then you will notice that the walls are looking very much similar to that of the real White House. Of course it could be any other building like a museum or something, but we can take an idea about this final battle through that image.
Now when or where this battle will originally happen is still unknown, which is a good thing because nobody loves spoilers, but these types of updates and leaks are enough for building up a hype among fans.

Will Sam Raimi Direct Spider-Man 4?

As previously mentioned, Spider-Man 4 currently does not have a director attached, so Sam Raimi has as good a chance as any if he were wanting to take a stab at the MCU’s version of Marvel’s wall-crawler.
Raimi was previously going to make a Spider-Man 4 of his own with Tobey Maguire, but the project was ultimately cancelled as the director found it more and more creatively restricting to make films in Sony’s first super-powered universe.
The Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director said, now that some time has passed, «anything is possible» and he » love to work with Tobey again,» if the opportunity were to present itself:
As for working on Tom Holland’s version of the character, he previously told Los Angeles Times after seeing No Way Home, «If I made a Spider-Man movie, it would probably have to be with Tobey or he’d break my neck:”

Julius Onah Will Direct Captain America: Brave New World
With Joe and Anthony Russo busy with their various Netflix projects, the brothers behind the previous two Captain America movies (as well as the third and fourth Avengers epics) won’t be returning to direct Brave New World. Instead, Julius Onah, the Nigerian-American filmmaker behind 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox will be sitting in the director’s chair when the movie eventually starts production at a later date.
The hiring was first announced in July 2022, when revealed that the director, who made his feature-length debut in 2018 with the action thriller, The Girl Is in Trouble, would become the first person without the last name of Russo to direct a Cap flick for the first time in more than a decade.

What Will Happen in Spider-Man 4?

After going Multiversal in Spider-Man: No Way Home, it is looking more and more like things will be toned down for Spider-Man 4.
The movie has been teased by Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige as a «street-level» story akin to those of common Spidey comic compatriot Daredevil:
This hints at a smaller-scale adventure for Holland’s web-slinger, one that focuses on «quality and emotion,» rather than the spectacle of the Multiverse, according to Spider-Man: No Way Home producer Amy Pascal:
This will likely see Tom Holland’s college-age hero take on the classic Spider-Man scenario, living on his own, struggling to balance his life as both Peter Parker and New York’s web-headed savior.
The movie could also see Spidey team up with another «street-level» hero in Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, who made his triumphant MCU return in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and has a Disney+ series of his own on the way from Marvel Studios.

Captain America: Brave New World Disney Plus release date
Trying to determine Brave New World‘s Disney Plus release date is more difficult. The movie should hit Disney’s streaming service after a minimum guaranteed 45-day theatrical window. But if Captain America 4 turns out to be a must-see blockbuster that dominates the box office, then its Disney Plus release could be delayed. That’s what Marvel did with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in late 2022.
Since then, Bob Iger took the reins as CEO of Disney. And other Marvel movies saw delayed releases on the company’s streaming service.

Captain America: Brave New World Will Introduce A Classic Comics Character To The MCU
In addition to returning faces, the upcoming sequel will also mark the MCU debut of Sabra, who’ll be played by Shira Haas. Introduced as a Mossad agent in the pages of The Incredible Hulk back in the ‘80s, Sabra is a mutant and one of the few Israeli superheroes in the Marvel Universe. The heroine is quite powerful, as she possesses a plethora of abilities, such as super strength, flight and a healing factor. Whether or not her powers will be scaled back a bit in the cinematic universe remains to be seen, but she should be a force to be reckoned with regardless.
Sabra has been somewhat controversial, however. When she was first introduced in the ‘80s, she essentially thrust Marvel into the Israeli-Palestine conflict. The character also received backlash for seemingly representing a number of Arab stereotypes. At present, many are concerned about how Marvel Studios intends to handle her in the new Captain America movie. Shortly after the company confirmed her inclusion during D23 2023, it released a statement to and others in which it assured audiences that it would be taking a “new approach” to the polarizing hero.

Captain America: Brave New World Opens In Theaters On February 14, 2025
In the spring of 2021, swooped in with one of the biggest superhero movie scoops of the year when it revealed that the flick was in the works and would follow up the Disney+ series that ended earlier that month. Fast forward over a year, and Kevin Feige was front and center on the Hall H stage 2022 San Diego Comic-Con not only sharing the film’s then-new and official title — Captain America: Brave New World— but also that it would open in theaters on May 3, 2024. The official Marvel account followed up that big announcement (one of many that night) with further confirmation of the title and release date as well as the movie’s logo, further adding to the excitement.
By March 2023, the superhero movie and, during that June, it was confirmed that it had been pushed to July 26, 2024 as part of a major Disney scheduling shuffle. However, the sequel moved yet again in November 2023, as the House of Mouse delayed it along with Blade and Thunderbolts due to the Hollywood strikes. With that shift, the Cap film landed a February 14, 2025 release date.
at the tail end of June 2023, with cinematographer Kramer Morgenthau confirming the news with an Instagram post. However, it was later reported that Captain America 4 would go through major changes, as reshoots were reported to be taking place for months, starting in January 2025.

Two Incredible Hulk Alums Will Return Alongside Some Falcon And The Winter Soldier Stars And More
At Disney’s 2022 D23 Expo, a few more cast members were confirmed for New World Order, and three of them are MCU alums. The biggest piece of news was arguably the reveal that The Incredible Hulk’s Tim Blake Nelson is returning and reprising his role as Samuel Sterns a.k.a. The Leader. This will mark the first time that the character has been seen in a live-action production since the aforementioned 2008 film. It seems the character is being positioned as the main antagonist of the movie. And if that weren’t exciting enough, fellow TIH veteran Liv Tyler is also reprising her role as the long-absent Betty Ross, who was the love interest of Bruce Banner.
On top of that, Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson will be joined by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’s Joaquin Torres, played by the returning Danny Ramirez. Not only that, it’s also been confirmed that . The movie will also see the return of Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley, the veteran super soldier who became a mentor to same in the Disney+ show. It’s fair to assume that said relationship will be expanded upon here. Also , whose role has yet to be revealed, and WWE’s Seth Rollins has been cast in an undisclosed part as well.

Will Tom Holland Return for Spider-Man 4?

Coming off of Spider-Man: No Way Home Tom Holland going forward as the MCU’s Spider-Man was not a certainty; however, he has been since to return as the iconic wall-crawler.
It has been written that not only will Tom Holland appear in Spider-Man 4, but a whole new MCU Spidey trilogy, as he continues to be a big part of the super-powered franchise.
In the fall of 2022, various leakers reported a «New Tom Holland deal comin’ right up,» being the first indication the actor would be back.
Holland himself has since hyped up Spider-Man 4, saying the sequel is «looking pretty good» with «some stuff going on» that he’s «excited about.»
The Marvel actor continued, remarking he would be «the luckiest kid alive» if he played Spider-Man for the rest of his life:

Casting details are scarce when it comes Spider-Man 4, but there are a few names one can assume will make an appearance.

Of course, no Spider-Man film would be complete without the titular wall-crawler himself. Tom Holland has been confirmed to return for Spider-Man 4, as his Peter Parker deals with a life of anonymity after expunging himself from the minds of his loved ones (and the rest of the world) at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Zendaya — Michelle Jones/MJ

It remains unknown if Zendaya’s Michelle Jones (aka MJ) will pop up in Spider-Man 4, but she feels like a very likely inclusion at least for a check-in. Following the events of No Way Home, Zendaya’s MJ is headed off to MIT with her friend Ned Leeds after she was forced to forget her first love/super-powered boyfriend Peter Parker.
Jacob Batalon — Ned Leeds

Joining MJ in her studies at MIT is Peter Parker’s former best friend Ned Leeds (played by Jacob Batalon). Seeing as the universe has forgotten the identity of New York’s Spider-Man, Ned has now forgotten his closest compatriot/the person who trusted him with a Spidey-sized secret.
J.K. Simmons — J. Jonah Jameson

After his shocking return as J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man: Far From Home, J.K. Simmons take on the beloved Daily Bugle editor was a full-fledged supporting character in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He may have forgotten Spider-Man’s identity, but surely the loud-mouthed newsman will return in Spider-Man 4 as he attempts to reveal Spidey as the menace JJJ thinks he is.
When Will Spider-Man 4 Release?

No official release date has been revealed for Spider-Man 4 as of yet, but it is almost surely coming.
A June 2023 report from Deadline revealed the first hints at where the wall-crawler’s fourth film could fall on the Sony Pictures and Marvel slate. Sony unveiled two dates for unannounced projects falling on November 8, 2024, and June 27, 2025.
While it is expected Venom 3 will take that November 2024 date, there is a strong likelihood that Spider-Man 4 comes to theaters in June 2025.
Of course, all that could change, with the ongoing writers’ and actors’ strikes shaking things up in Hollywood, however.
Sony Pictures and Spidey film producer Amy Pascal commented on how the strikes will impact Spider-Man 4, saying, «Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are,» but «nobody is working» on the project during the labor dispute:
When asked about any specific information about the upcoming sequel, Pascal added «If I told you, I’d have to kill you.”
With Tom Holland taking a bit of a break from acting (something that the actor said should not take too long), and Spider-Man 4‘s lack of a director, there is still plenty of work to do before the Spidey sequel can get in front of cameras, so if it were to push past that June 2025 date, it would not be all that surprising.
Development has at least started on the film, so the ball is rolling. In an interview with The New York Times, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige let slip that they are «actively beginning to develop where the story heads next:»
The studio executive also has made note that the movie is in the midst of being written (via Entertainment Weekly), however, work has been paused due to the strikes in Hollywood.
