This is the video game based on the popular family-friendly horse movie “Windstorm”. I actually enjoyed this video game because of how the story, and characters wrapped into the gameplay. The game offers lovely graphics, landscapes, races, missions and horse grooming. This is a great game for children, but I can see a lot of adults who want to play a relaxing game enjoying this also.
Like a lot of other games on this list, the gameplay does become a little repetitive fast. However, I was more engaged in Windstorm. The gameplay, with the characters and missions, have a nice flow. After I defeated a few missions I felt like I was accomplishing something important. I also enjoyed the art style, graphics, music, horse leveling and skills.
Sadly Windstorm is a UK import game. If you’re in North America you might have trouble finding it on Amazon. You’ll probably have better luck checking eBay for the game’s availability.

Желая нового F-ноль игра? Что ж, Редаут вероятно, следующая лучшая вещь. Действие происходит в 2560 году. Редаут создает специальную лигу с участием семи различных гоночных команд, каждая из которых имеет свои уникальные автомобили, которые можно настраивать и улучшать по ходу игры.

Horses in Black Desert Online come in various colors and tiers. Horses with higher tiers are faster than the others. But if the most basic horses can be tamed in nature, the best horses come from breeding. The statistics of each horse can be improved with equipment, like horseshoe, champron or saddle, that will increase their HP, acceleration, or stamina.
DIRT 5
Like your arcade racing to be a little more dirty? Then with its wide range of off-road events, DIRT 5 is the game for you.
With gameplay as far away from the hard-as-nails DiRT Rally 2.0 as possible, DIRT 5 simply wants you to have a fun as you throw a range of off-road vehicles around its many courses. You’ll be driving rally cars, trucks and even buggies in everything from straight-up racing events to gymkhana challenges. And once you’re done with the game’s lengthy career mode you can have fun creating your own events thanks to its Playgrounds mode. Needless to say, if you’re after the best arcade racing games on PS4 and like a bit of rally action, you can’t get better.

В свободное время Кадзунори создавал презентации для различных автомобильных компаний Японии, снимал любительские фильмы и изучал программирование. Horses are the main form of transportation. You can tame a wild horse and make it your own, or steal a horse from a stable and run away. The more time you spend with your horse, the more you will bond with it and unlock new advantages.

Developed by Nadeo and Published by Ubisoft, Trackmania Turbo is all about driving very fast on outlandish tracks and performing ridiculous stunts. When playing alone you’ll mostly find yourself trying to beat the clock, which isn’t so easy when obstacles are thrown your way when travelling at insane speeds. Trackmania Turbo also features local co-op play, however, where two players try to control the same car. And for those who are competitive, four player split-screen makes for some heated social gaming sessions. It even includes some VR content for PSVR owners. Definitely pick it up if you’re a PS4 gamer who loves arcade racers.
DiRT Rally

Burnout Paradise Remastered
We’re adamant that Burnout Revenge is the best Burnout game ever made, but Burnout Paradise – the entry that took the series into open world territory – comes a close second.
Enhanced to make use of the power of the PS4, Burnout Paradise Remastered features improved visuals, a smoother framerate and all the DLC released for the game. That means you can race faster then ever, witness more eye candy, and race a wider variety of vehicles across Paradise City and Big Surf Island. The only thing disappointing about Burnout Paradise Remastered is that it doesn’t enhance the base game all that much. You still can’t fast travel to the start of events, for example, or place markers on its map. Still, if you’re after the best arcade racers on PS4, Burnout Paradise Remastered is one of them.
#9 Mount & Blade: Warband
Warband is a standalone expansion pack to Mount & Blade, the popular strategy action RPG game series. Mount & Blade: Warband introduces a sixth faction in the game, as well as the possibility for the player to start their own faction. It also features multiplayer modes to play with friends.
Mount & Blade: Warband takes place in the medieval land of Calradia, and the general goal of the game is to conquer this territory. As it is set in medieval times, there are no cars or helicopters available to drive around. But you can always count on your faithful horse to carry you wherever you want. You can even defeat your foes on horseback, slashing them from above.
What Next?
Considering the relatively few options in the “horse riding” category, I’ve got a couple of suggestions for you if you’re looking for more.
If you’re interested in horse racing, then an alternative would be to consider other types of racing games. Have a look at the best racing games for PS5 and you may find something that quenches that thirst just a little bit.
Alternatively, if you’re particular about the actual riding of horses, a large number of the PS5’s best medieval games involve quite a bit of horse riding. You can pick one that has an open world and allows for exploration away from the story.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity
The original FlatOut by Bugbear Entertainment was simply fantastic, and so was its sequel. But when development was handed over to Team 6 Studios for FlatOut 3, something went terribly wrong. Thankfully, with Kylotonn Games at the helm, FlatOut 4:Total Insanity brought the series back on track.
Featuring races, time trails, arenas and more, FlatOut 4: Total Insanity blends high-stakes racing with destruction. Unlock vehicles, customise them, and then take them out on dynamic tracks to compete against competition that puts up a real fight. And when it gets a bit too much, pay a visit to assault mode in which vehicles are kitted out with weapons so you can cause some real damage to relieve some stress. The icing on the cake is stunt mode in which you can take part in a variety of entertaining minigames. It’s silly, but it sure is fun.

The Windstorm series saw a first installment released in 2018 and Windstorm: Ari’s Arrival is the second game in the series. This one was developed and published by Eurovideo Medien in 2019.
The titular Windstorm is a stallion that was originally attached to the main character named Mika in the first installment.
In Ari’s Arrival, the new main character is Ari, a foster girl that must help Windstorm to recover from the anxiety that was triggered by the fire that she experienced with Mika in the first game.
Horses are known to get attached to their owners, so it seems reasonable that Windstorm is struggling so much with Mika out in a coma and a stranger in charge.
So, it is an uphill task to get Windstorm to trust you in the first place, let alone open up to be in a vulnerable enough state for you to help reduce the crippling anxiety.
These two are the main characters in the game, but they are not the only ones. Mr. Kaan, for instance, is also important to the story as he helps you achieve your main objective and gain Windstorm’s trust.
Apart from him, you will also encounter other characters in and around the farm which serves as the central focus of the events in the game.
As it stands, horse games will only use a fraction of the processing power of the new-gen PS5, and you should adjust your expectations if you’re looking for one with the prettiest graphics and buttery smooth performance.
That said, Windstorm does look nice, and the details in Ari’s Arrival are clearly much improved in comparison to the first game.
The game is played from a third-person perspective, so you get to see much more visual information about your character, the steed, and the environment.
There are side tasks here to complete away from the main objective, although each one is conveniently tied to the story somehow.
Recurrent duties such as caring for your horse, practicing on a course, and exploring the world around you contribute to the overall activity in the game to keep things interesting.
If you’re looking for the best horse games on PS5 that attempt to build a real connection with the player and the characters, then Windstorm: Ari’s Arrival should be one of your top choices.
#14 Far Cry 6
If you could ride an elephant in Far Cry 4, the latest instalment in the series brings more traditional mounts. Far Cry 6 is set in the Caribbean island of Yara, ruled by a dictator and his son. The main character of the game, Dani, is a guerrilla fighter who wants to topple this regime and free the country.
Dani can travel throughout the island with various vehicles, such as cars, trucks, boats, planes, or helicopters. But as this list is a selection of the best PS4 horse riding games, Far Cry 6 wouldn’t be featured in this article if you couldn’t ride a horse. You can find many horses throughout Yara and bring them back to a Horse Pickup point to keep them, or complete missions to unlock new mounts.

FlatOut 4: Total Insanity
Слова Total Insanity («полное безумие») добавлены в название не для красоты. FlatOut 4 действительно соответствует своему названию и предлагает дополнительную порцию хаоса на гоночной трассе. В играх этой серии всегда делался большой упор на некоторое сумасшествие на трассе, и FlatOut 4 – не исключение. Гонки в игре совершенно дикие и непредсказуемые. Режим «вечеринки» потрясающе подходит, чтобы разделить удовольствие от гоночного экшена с друзьями, а онлайн-мультиплеер гарантирует, что игра Вам никогда не надоест. Однако, в одиночку в неё играть скучно, а гринд в таком режиме слишком трудно выдержать. Если Вы ищете сумасшедший экшен на гоночной трассе, то Вам стоит выбрать FlatOut 4.
Winning Post 8 2018 (Japenese Import)

Winning Post is the most popular professional horse racing/management simulator series. Winning Post 8 2018 didn’t receive a UK or North American port for PS4. The only way you can play Winning Post 8 2018 is to buy the Japenese Import game. All of the text in the game will be in Japenese, which kind of kills the experience for English speakers.
Winning Post is the best professional Horse Racing video game series. I have heard positive feedback about Winning Post 8 2018, being the best game in the series so far. Sadly there aren’t any English ports of this game. I can only recommend Winning Post 8 2018 to those that speak Japanese or for those that don’t mind the game having foreign text. With some practice, English speakers can learn the controls and most of the text, but many of us don’t have the time or patience to learn such things from a video game.
Hopefully in the future UK and North American Ports will be released. If not physically at least digitally.
Project CARS

В декабре 2013 года для консоли PS3 вышла шестая часть серии Gran Turismo. Это был довольно странный шаг со стороны Sony, ведь уже поступила в продажу следующая приставка компании — PlayStation 4. Но, вероятно, сыграла свою роль огромная пользовательская база владельцев PS3, насчитывающая на тот момент более 80 миллионов человек.
В новой игре было решено отказаться от сомнительной системы накопления очков опыта и уровней, поэтому игроки при наличии необходимой суммы средств могут купить любой автомобиль на любом этапе прохождения игры. Многие модели автомобилей из GT5 были доработаны от категории «стандартных» до категории «премиум-авто».
Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered
In a time where Need for Speed games had almost exclusively become open-world, Criterion Games’ Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit was a breath of fresh air. And it is even more so now, remastered and enhanced for PS4.
In Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered you’re given the choice of being a street racer or a cop. Whichever you chose, fun is surely to follow as you speed through one event after another, utilising a range of gadgets and tools to achieve your goals. Ultimately you’ll want to play as both cops and streets racers, enjoying both sides of the action. And with challenging point-to-points events being the order of the day, you’ll be kept on your toes every step of the way. With fast exotic sports cars, thrilling crashes and epic police chases, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is undoubtedly one of the best arcade racing games on PS4.
My Little Riding Champion (Good for kids!)

My Little Riding Champion is a good game for kids. It’s similar but more serious than the “My Riding Stables” game featured in this list. This game offers a lot of horses to choose from, with a lot of customization options. There is also a lot of challenging training chapters, missions, grooming, and races to play through. Graphically this is one of the better-looking horse games. For a budget title, I appreciate the developers putting in the extra effort to the environments and player models. They do look polished.
On the negative side, this game becomes repetitive really fast. Not only is it repetitive, but the controls are also a little clunky and the gameplay feels boring. The game is also really glitchy. Glitches include getting stuck or going through objects.
Overall young kids that love horses will probably enjoy My Little Riding Champion. I can see some adults enjoying this if they don’t become bored or frustrated first.
#12 Darksiders 2
Darksiders 2 is an action RPG hack and slash with puzzle elements. The main character is Death, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. He wants to clear the name of his brother, War, accused of wiping out humanity. He sets out on a mission to reach the Tree of Life and resurrect humankind.
As one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, Death can count on Despair, his horse, to travel through the various maps of Darksiders 2. Unlike in the previous game, Death has access to his horse way faster than his brother did in Darksiders. As the map of this new game is bigger than the previous one, Despair is essential to ride through the devastated lands in hope to save humanity.

PHAR LAP – Horse Racing Challenge is one of the most popular horse games out there. The game was published by Tru Blu Entertainment.
If your thirst for a horse game can only be quenched with horse racing, this is arguably the best option for you in the PlayStation Store. It’s not the most versatile or unique title out there, but it does exactly what is advertised, and it does it well.
The gameplay here is pretty simple. You start out with the most basic facilities and horses, but as the game progresses, you can unlock better horses and upgraded facilities across new levels.
Each level has a main mission that you must complete to progress to the next. The missions are repetitive as they mostly involve racing across specific distances, breeding specific types of horses, and upgrading specific buildings.
The controls are pretty simple too, which is a good thing for a causal horse racing game. The better your horse is, the higher your chances of winning a race even if you make a mistake.
If you’re racing with one of the worst horses on the track, then you’ll almost certainly need to complete a perfect race to stand a chance.
PHAR LAP Horse Racing has a couple of other game modes too. There is a betting party mode that’s great for players that want to place bets on horse racing without actually having to go out to a real track.
Each player involved in the betting party is given the same amount of money, and then you choose the number of races and the racetracks to use.
Important information about the form of each horse will be relevant to making the decision on which one to bet on, so you need to pay attention to that.
The game also has an online multiplayer mode where you can compete with other horse racers for points. The player with the highest number of points at the end of each series of races wins.
Finally, there is a fun little tool for creating your own racehorse. If your preference is not adequately represented among the default available options, you can customize many things such as coat color, markings, and skill level to create your personal dream horse.
You can’t breed with a customized horse, but you can buy it from the store in story mode.
You can even go online and buy horses that other players have created, stocking your stable with your version of the very best horses for those intense racing events.
